2017 just came to an end. It has been a fascinating year for myself – of slipping down the slope and getting lost before, finally, finding what looks like a path back up the hill. I am pretty sure that when I look back the pages of my life, 2017 would probably be the one where I will remember knocking the door of hope.

The Forgotten Ones
The field looked deserted. How he longed to feel again, the warmth of a hug; the strength in a kiss!
He heard footsteps in distance. The trial was over.
It was nearly dawn. His country would wake up to a beautiful morning – traded with the blood of his young platoon.
A Song for the Unknown Child
I was born in someone’s womb,
Cherished, nourished and nurtured.
I have been in the shop of candy
Built a castle on the sea shore.
I loved the rocking horse,
Also the carousel at fun fair.
I’ve founded many realms, in play;
Lost countless hours in peekaboo.
The Perfect Vision
I stood in front of a little wooden box
Mellow at first touch,
And coarse by the next
Curious, I slid open its crest.
It had two pairs of glasses
One rimmed with a golden frame
The other all rotten and rust
I decided, that try them I must.
Antonym
I wonder what god will have to say
While looking back at us
Will there be pride and joy?
Or anguish and disdain?
The Warrior
Standing amidst the stench
Of the one thousand dead men
That he had heaped on the bloody ground
The warrior, clad in his unyielding armor
And brandishing a razor sharp sword,
Thumped his chest and laughed at the world.
The Great King
There was once this king,
Who ruled the whole world;
Every stone pebble was his,
And so were all the grains of sand.
Not satisfied with what he got,
He decided to pray to the lord;
To make him ruler of other worlds,
To make him master of the lands beyond.
He forgot his kingdom,
And prayed to the lord divine;
Certain that the lord cannot keep him waiting,
He the one who rules the whole world.
