While some strive to achieve glory despite all their human limitations, some are bestowed talent so immense that the world simply cannot help but take notice. Then there are those rare few who are endowed with prowess beyond wildest imagination and yet somehow manage to stretch the limits by sheer hard work, perseverance and above all humility. They are whom I’ll call divine!

It’s that wonderful feeling all over again. Time to start everything afresh. It’s new year time, of course. 2011 has been a year of downs and ups. Kind of bumpy, and I am sure looking forward to 2012.

I read the score card wondering if the fool’s day had come in a bit late! It was probably my hallucination – after all I wanted it so selfishly for the past few weeks now. It never sank in really that the day has come to pass when we can call ourselves “world champions” at last!
I couldn’t sleep for another hour or two just imagining the “madness” that would have followed suite. I must have re-read the scorecard at least a few dozen times feeling emphatic, hysterical, elated, ecstatic and – very much disappointed! Am I missing India at the moment! From behind the veils of the “Great Wall” and the limited freedom of “legal” internet that I have come to restrain myself to, all I could do was just take a sneak peek at the score every few minutes.

“Come on Shiela, our son’s playing!“ Kumar was ecstatic jumping with joy watching the idiot box in their new flat.
The Kumar’s had just moved to the locality; shifting to a comfortable three bedroom apartment, a great relief from the dark and dingy single bedroom flat where they had lived for twenty long years! All thanks to their son Vijay!
Vijay was just eight years old when he started showing interest in cricket. Seeing his curiosity in the game, Kumar (who was an ardent fan of the game too) decided to enroll his son with an acclaimed coach in their town, against all the economic constraints.
