I wonder what god will have to say
While looking back at us
Will there be pride and joy?
Or anguish and disdain?

Born to be at liberty
Yet we managed to tie ourselves
To every speck of dust on earth and
Free ourselves from freedom!

A thousand expressions of love
Lost in the trails of busy life.
A beautiful smile we forget
Scorn and pride we adorn.

A life born with hope
And Innocence instilled.
Yet to burn this virtue,
Is that not what we strive for?

If there is a purpose to this creation,
If there are set rules,
I guess we have gone past them all
By many a miserable mile!

I wonder what god will have to say
While looking back at us
Will there be pride and joy?
Or anguish and disdain?

Born in a savage world
Yet we civilized ourselves.
Learning to master the game
Surviving its twists and turns.

A million ways we found to destroy
Yet it is love that we seek to win.
All we learn from life’s tough lessons
Is to protect those we love.

We fear not the distance,
Nor the elements that tease.
The ship that is molded on earth
Shall long only for the sea.

If there was a purpose to this creation,
If there were set rules,
I guess we have surpassed them all
By many a glorious mile!
